Le Mas d'Amont, furnished with tourism classified 5 stars in 2019 by the Ministry of Tourism, is the headquarters of the association Wanakaset Pyrénées Orientales whose ultimate goal is to plant a multitude of varieties of fruit trees in order to generate unique biodiversity. By staying in our accommodation, you participate financially in the creation of this extraordinary ecosystem. Note that 100% of rental income is directly paid to the association. The 300 year old Mas d'Amont, perched on a hill in the Albères, overlooks the Mediterranean Vermeille Coast and is located in the middle of 65 ha of forest. The view is breathtaking and for the early risers, the sunrises over the sea are a work of art every morning.
The site is entirely off-grid and autonomous. We are not connected to any public municipal infrastructure: electricity comes from solar panels, fresh water from a well and gray water is recycled via a phytosanitary system, which allows this water to be used for the irrigation of young trees. You can harvest seasonal vegetables in the permaculture garden and cook them in stride. Our trees are still young but some are already yielding fruit to be picked according to the seasons. Our chicken coop houses ten collection hens, finding 100% organic eggs daily is pure pleasure.
You will stay on the ground floor of the Mas d'Amont. The 250 m2 surface is completely independent and has been recently renovated. The wooden furniture has been made by local craftsmen, the bedding is excellent and all the equipment is of superior quality:
The configuration of the premises is as follows:
7 bedrooms in total, sleeping capacity: 18 people. (Possibility of adding 2 90 x 200 mattresses in one bedroom).
• 5 double bedrooms with each: 1 double bed 160 x 200 cm, desk and shelves. One of them has an en-suite shower room and is located upstairs below.
• 2 quadruple rooms:
- bedroom 1: 1 double bed 160 x 200 cm, 2 bunk beds 90 x 200 cm, desk and shelves.
- bedroom 2: 4 bunk beds 90 x 200 cm, desk and shelves.
• 4 bathrooms (including the one below)
• 3 separate toilets.
• A large hyper-equipped kitchen with a table (12 seats), widely open to the dining room which is equipped with another table (14 seats). The two can be moved to make a table of 24 people.
• A relaxation room with sofas, smart TV, Bose sound bar, DVD player, books and DVDs for young and old.
• A furnished outdoor terrace.
• A 50 m2 swimming pool (accessible and not secure: to be taken into account if your group has young children).
• A 100 cm diameter Artflame barbecue
• All equipment is Miele, Magimix, Jura, etc.
Important information:
• the last 3 kilometers to access the farmhouse are via an unpaved track (DFCI), certain turns are steep and steep and you must avoid sports cars and cars with too low chassis. FYI, from experience, 9-seater minibuses pass. From November 2019, we provide our guests with a 9-seater 4X4 electric vehicle if necessary.
• Smoking inside the farmhouse is strictly prohibited.
• Smoking in the forest during the summer is also strictly prohibited, in order to limit the risk of fire.
• Depending on your arrival time, it is preferable to stock up before going up to the farmhouse. On site you will find essential products (oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, spices, tea, coffee, toilet paper, etc.).
• Gray water being treated via a phytosanitary system, it is imperative to use only toiletries (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner) and biological maintenance. We provide them to you on site, free of charge.
As the farmhouse is not connected to the telecom network, we will provide you with a mobile phone with 1 GB of data that you can recharge if necessary, at your expense.
Wifi is only available by satellite and works more or less well depending on the climate ...

We are 15 minutes by car from Argelès-sur-Mer. Perpignan is 30 minutes, Collioure 25 minutes. Spending a day in Barcelona is possible since it takes 2 hours to drive. Céret is 40 minutes away, the famous Feria de Céret takes place every year in July.
